The Next Right Thing

Interesting times these be my dear friends... Amazing heights and astonishing lows; brilliant breakthroughs and maddening redundancies; thriving communities and abject loneliness; absolute knowing that EVERYTHING is possible and desperately wanting off the planet; purging, cleaning, expanding, celebrating, anger, dismay; having it all or hoping for something... anything to hold on to.

The Cosmic Line has surely been drawn in the sand, and it will only deepen and widen in the coming days. This phenomenon has been on the minds and lips of everyone I come in contact with, and everyone has a side. Right or wrong, good or bad, productive or destructive, the sides have been selected. But the sides keep shifting, changing and morphing, so what seemed like the right course of action a month ago may not be so now. The current energy is demanding that we pick a side... so what to do, what to do??

First of all, it’s important to return to ‘basics’ to reset so much of what has become askew. Trust, support, community, sharing, honoring, integrity, transparency, forthrightness... these values and behaviors are tantamount to our creating, (and in some cases regaining), the positive, supportive world many have experienced and most have envisioned. Anything short of those values cannot, and must not, be tolerated for one single moment within ourselves or those we deal with in any respect.

Where to start? Where we can — with ourselves and what we have control over. The Universe cannot show you anything you’ve intentionally chosen to block from your reality, so do a simple ‘Reality Check’ and see what side of the line you’re actually on.

• Is your life playing out to your delight or dismay?
• Are you getting what you want?
• Are you happy and fulfilled?
• Do you need to make changes in your life or lifestyle?
• Are your friendships and relationships authentic, or ‘Fair Weather’ illusions?

Just see what comes up when you ask yourself those questions. Because of old fears, habits, patterns, Karmic lessons, or a myriad of other reasons, you may inadvertently be on the wrong side of this energy. Remember, it’s all about CHOICE and remaining focused on what you TRULY WANT in your life — the “End of the Movie” as it were.

The good news about the current state of the Planet is that its time for dramatic change in so many areas. Some have been revealed so far, and others will be in coming days. This is supposed to be an amazing time of creation and innovation, desperately needed for so long, worldwide.

The bad news is that our current ‘reality’ has created epidemic mistrust, overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and seething outrage. Justifiably so in most cases, but staying stuck in those feelings will hold you prisoner in powerlessness. Use those feeling to propel you into positive, life-affirming, dramatic changes for the benefit of all.

‘We are the ones we’ve been waiting for’... you may have heard this saying lately... it’s so true and it IS up to us dear friends! Each and every one of us chose long ago to be here right now, at this exact time in our history, to experience the rebirth of a planet and to play an immensely important role. So start envisioning your highest ideal for yourselves, one another and the planet at large. Every positive thought, action and emotion up-levels us all, so keep those cards and letters coming!

Recently I watched a timely and impressive TV program that had some profound messages in it for us all. It starred Michael J. Fox, and was appropriately entitled “Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.”

In one of his segments, he visited Bhutan and was struck by their life-affirming national mentality. The country operates out of GNH, (Gross National Happiness), and consciously supports their citizens in being happy, fulfilled and flourishing. What would our lives become if we actively focused on GNH, instead of just GNP? Even if we don’t do it on a massive scale right now, how about practicing a little GPH (Gross Personal Happiness) on a daily basis. So what brings you joy and serenity?

Michael J. also discovered they have strong, interdependent social networks and how those networks organically create strong interpersonal relationships. They also depend on their Community to sustain GNH and have found that Hope flourishes in groups. Think about it for a moment...what do so many people do when they’re depressed or in fear? Usually they contract, withdraw, or suffer in silence/solitude. The way through and out of those dark, negative feelings is to connect with family, friends, partners or the Community.

It’s in our DNA to return to the ‘Tribe’ for support, so what about developing, or connecting with, a supportive group of people, i.e. your personal Community? The shared experiences will give you a different perspective of Fate vs. Optimism and instill the belief that there’s always tomorrow. Yes, Scarlet, tomorrow IS another day... so work on creating your dreams, shake off the fear/powerlessness and do the next right thing!
